Base Rate remains at 5%

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee has frozen Bank base rate (BBR) at 5%.

The MPC was widely expected to freeze rates, despite further warnings this week that the UK is nearing a recession.

The last change was a reduction of 0.25% to 5% on 10 April.
